Born in Morris, IL, I grew up with a pencil in my hand. My parents had me work with private tutors throughout the years. When I was in 5th grade, the high school art teacher took notice of my abilities and introduced me into a local art contest. When I won, it began a laundry list of art shows and competitions that I would enter for years to come.

When in high school, I began to freelance my artwork to teachers & local organizations. Still smitten with drawing, I majored in Illustration at Columbia College in Chicago, soaking up Graphic Design and city life on the way. During this time, I sought outlets for exposure, including the college newspaper and local arts magazines....The rest is "resume" history.

On the Personal Side:

I am the middle of five children and am one of the lucky few whose parents never divorced. I look to my faith for strength. I give all credit to God for my gifts and try to incorporate small religious relics into my pieces. I have been married to my husband, Cecil, since June of 2000 (no children). We have two great Siamese cats -- Tybalt and Dymitrius (see photo below).

Some of my favorite past times include watching horror movies, drawing (of course), real estate speculation, playing with my cats and working out. Good times.
