Columbia College Senior Project (2000)

A product of Marker Rendering class and Senior Portfolio, I was to use the retro-style sofa in an application: an ad for an upscale furniture store which customized furniture for the young urban professional. Once rendered, I used Quark to supply the text.

Spoon (2000)

Another marker project. This time the mission was the experimentation with light and reflection. I find it so intriguing that the strange montage of shapes and squiggles inside the round of the spoon can make perfect sense for the use of expressing what light is.

Internship Project (2000)

A marker rendering of my hand became a project based on my experience interning at the University of Illinois at Chicago Biomedical Visualization / Illustration Department. I wanted form and functionality. An extension of an arm and the cover of an annual report.

Korn Kover Kontest (1999)

Owner: Kai Speak, Minooka, IL

While watching cable one day, MTV announced the "Korn Kover Kontest". The band chose the next album cover from the lot of original artworks sent to them. Needless to say, my design did not win...but I snagged the eye of another musician, the owner.

The Hindenberg's Led (1997)

This is the only somewhat non-original piece that I have on my site: it was relayed from the cover of a Led Zeppelin album. I have it displayed because I am a sucker for black and white ink drawings...and I didn't want you to miss out if you are a fan of black and white ink drawings, too. But really, I just had a good time drawing this one.

The world can learn something from stippling (all those dots): if we, as each individual 'dot', can work together, the effect can be so dramatic that it's actually what makes the art.
